Minister Akilah Ife Evans, the life partner and wife of our National Minister Lawrance Lee Evans Sr., passed this morning at Highland Hospital in Rochester NY. She was 65 years young, and she played a pivotal role in the administration and fundraising activities of the First Community Interfaith Institute Inc. She was one of the original organizers of what is now the FCII Festival (coming up July 12-15). Mama Akilah was the proud and loving mother to six beautiful children and Nana to five grandchildren and one on the way this fall. Funeral arrangements are pending.
