Mama Akilah Evans is now with the ancestors!

Minister Akilah Ife Evans, the life partner and wife of our National Minister Lawrance Lee Evans Sr., passed this morning at Highland Hospital in Rochester NY. She was 65 years young, and she played a pivotal role in the administration and fundraising activities of the First Community Interfaith Institute Inc. She was one of the original organizers of what is now the FCII Festival (coming up July 12-15). Mama Akilah was the proud and loving mother to six beautiful children and Nana to five grandchildren and one on the way this fall. Funeral arrangements are pending.

Join us for our annual Legacy Day celebration

Legacy Day: In honor of Madam Martha McMiller Jordan will be on June 6, 2017 (6 PM) at First Community Interfaith Institute Inc.  The event features a Doology Workshop which is coordinated by the students of the Ministry School of Doology. Minister Lawrance Lee Evans Sr. will conduct the workshop.

The workshop is designed for those who desire "people" skills and "personal" skills for the purpose of individual success. Doology is a discipline for being successful in one's academic environment and in one's interpersonal relationships.

June 6 is the birthday of Madam Martha Jordan. The Doology Workshop is also a fundraiser for the annual trip to the FCII Festival in July.

Join us for the "Meaning of Resurrection"

On Sunday, April 16, join First Community Interfaith Institute Inc. for a very special service at 4 PM. "The Meaning of Resurrection," the annual presentation by Minister Lawrance Lee Evans Sr., is a unique viewpoint on the significance of resurrection from a black perspective and always take place on "Easter Sunday." Dinner will be served,  and the program is open to all faiths.  We hope to see you on April 16!

It's Time to "Receive Your Heavenly Blessings" for Women's History Month

First Community Interfaith Institute Inc will have a program of “Honor and Thank you” on Friday, March 10, 2017 (6 PM) at First Community Interfaith Institute Inc., 219 Hamilton Street, Rochester NY.
The Institute will honor the late Siti Akanke (AKA Mary Bailey), who helped Minister Evans develop case management services at First Community Interfaith Institute Inc. She also was a trustee at the Institute for over twenty years. Libation will be performed on behalf of Sister Siti.
Also on the Women’s History Month program, the Institute will give Rev. Myra Brown a “Thank You” in its traditional “Shout Out” based on its Doology discipline.
Rev.
