On Wednesday, December 11, 2013, you have the opportunity to be part of the third annual "ROCtheDay," organized by the United Way of Greater Rochester and co-sponsored by the City of Rochester, the County of Monroe, the Rochester Area Community Foundation and other groups. ROCtheDay is a 24 hour period of community members (you don't have to live in Rochester or the surrounding areas) making a tax-deductible donation to one or more of the 600 plus nonprofits participating this year. Doology is the discipline practiced at the only teaching church/spiritual and cultural organization in Rochester, NY, known as First Community Interfaith Institute Inc. The late Minister Lawrance Lee Evans developed the idea of Doology as a teenager. Minister Evans went on to establish the Institute in 1970. In Doology, we are taught that positive action in your community or organization is valued more than just complaining.
