Doology is the discipline practiced at the only teaching church/spiritual and cultural organization in Rochester, NY, known as First Community Interfaith Institute Inc. Minister Lawrance Lee Evans is the National Minister of First Community Interfaith Institute Inc. and he came up with the idea of Doology as a teenager. Minister Evans went on to establish the Institute in 1970. In Doology, we are taught that positive action in your community or organization is valued more than just complaining.

Join us for the "Meaning of Resurrection"
On Sunday, April 16, join First Community Interfaith Institute Inc. for a very special service at 4 PM. "The Meaning of Resurrection," the annual presentation by Minister Lawrance Lee Evans Sr., is a unique viewpoint on the significance of resurrection from a black perspective and always take place on "Easter Sunday." Dinner will be served, and the program is open to all faiths. We hope to see you on April 16!

First Community Interfaith Institute Inc. will close its fiscal year with the annual "Minister Akilah Ife's Cultural Extravaganza" on Friday, September 23 at 219 Hamilton Street. September 23 is the 49th anniversary of Minister Lawrance Lee Evans and his late wife, Minister Akilah. The Cultural Extravaganza begins at 6 PM and will last the entire evening. Entertainment and dinner will be provided. "All Night Long: Minister Akilah's Cultural Extravaganza" is a fundraiser for the Institute's cultural and educational programs. Suggested donation is $150. There are five scholarships available for those who are unable to give $150.00.
