48th ANNUAL CELEBRATION OF DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING JR.
"BUILDING A BELOVED COMMUNITY"
First Community Interfaith Institute Inc will hold its 48th annual celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr on January 27, 2019 (4:00 PM) at its headquarters, 219 Hamilton Street, Rochester, NY.
In 1963, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. stated in his sermon, Loving Your Enemies, the following:
"..With every ounce of our energy, we must continue to rid this nation of the incubus of segregation. But we shall not in the process relinquish our privilege and our obligation to love. While abhorring segregation, we shall love the segregationist. This is the only way to create the beloved community.”
Rochester City Councilman Malik Evans, son of the late Minister Lawrance Lee Evans Sr., will present to the members, students, and supporters of the First Community Institute Inc. "Building a Beloved Community" on January 27, 2019.
